History

The idea of Farm To Future Food SPC began about 16 years ago when my son wanted to create a box to feed the hungry people of the world. At six he began creating schematics. My supportive ex-husband took him to Home Depot to buy materials. My son worked on the invention for months before moving on to his next endeavor.

Over the past four years my health and income had decreased both by 75%. I went to the local food banks and found produce often needed to be eaten that day or within a day or two. Now, I volunteer and see many do not take produce or dried products because without refrigeration or power it’s difficult to store produce and prepare the dried rice or bean meals. Others simply do not know how to cook.

This past year, I discovered freeze dried food for long-term storage and no need for power. I decided to look into it. The freeze drier reminded me of my sons’ childhood idea. Then it hit me; freeze dried foods for all in any situation! This is when my sons’ childhood idea became Farm To Future Food SPC’s “Why”!

Mission

To minimize food waste in the Pacific Northwest while maximizing nutritional value in ready-to-eat affordable freeze-dried foods to all.

Vision

Ensuring affordable ready-to-eat freeze-dried foods are available to all humans in any situation. We value local farmers and want to inspire them to reduce product loss by turning it into another revenue that is a nutritious ready-to-eat product with a longer shelf-life that anyone can access.

Triple Bottom Line (People, Planet, & Prosperity)

Farm To Future Food SPC will be centered around bettering the Triple Bottom Line. The focus is on people and the planet which will lead to a higher profit based on genuine care about our community and local farmers. We will provide an affordable product that anyone can use anywhere. Our packaging will be user friendly and resealable to stay fresher and last longer. It will also have a foil mylar bag with a clear front to see the product inside. The mylar bag is reusable and recyclable. Customers can return mylar bags for a discount incentive. We strive to ensure our service is available to farmers when they need it most to preserve foods for their future revenues. Our farmers' overstock drives our service and profit rather than our profit being driven by sales that list products online as out of stock. Farm To Future Food SPC will gift 10% to charity annually.
